On the 28th April 2026, the National Trainee Reps, led by Dr Claire Stewart, organised a day on neurodisability and neurodiversity in central London.
Eight speakers shared their lived experience of navigating children and young people's services for neurodisability and neurodiversity. We had young people and parents with a wide range of experience, bravely sharing their journey and day-to-day health management. They shared their insights and personal reflections on the important parts of care from their perspective, and offered their thoughts on how we can be brilliant community paediatricians.
77 Trainees in-person and online joined to listen. You can find the programme for the day here.
The talks were recorded and are available here to watch to enrich your understanding of neurodisability and neurodiversity and to put patients' voices as central to our learning.
